What To Do After a Work Injury
Employers are obligated by law (OSHA) to ensure workplace safety. Unfortunately, sometimes companies ignore the law even if they are repeatedly fined. We have helped expose negligent companies and management, some of which tried to cover up work safety issues. We can help you recover, and can help make changes to keep other workers from injury or death. But it is important that you talk to an attorney soon after the accident. In some cases, investigating the accident scene and talking to witnesses can lead to additional claims such as product liability, premises liability, contractor negligence and more.
Do Not Sign Any Agreements
If you have a workplace injury, your company may offer to help pay for some expenses or you may be eligible for workers’ compensation. But it may not be enough for your job injury, especially if you have large debts or can’t work again. Many injured workers are entitled to more compensation. Employers may need to be punished for their negligence, resulting in an even larger award or settlement for an injured worker. Check with a lawyer before you sign any agreement.
